Don't Trade Security for Convenience

There is a constant balancing act between maximizing efficiency and maintaining security. Companies want hardware and software to be easy to use, but without sacrificing safety protocols. This can be a fine line to walk, but it's one that Konica Minolta has mastered.

Dispatcher Stratus' and Dispatcher ScanTrip Cloud's built-in MFP authentication now includes PIN support. Each user can generate a unique 6-digit PIN that they can use at the MFP. These PINs can be generated by an admin or by the user themselves and make logging into an MFP a breeze.

Enabling PIN Support is Easy

Enabling PIN support is quick and easy. Simply go to your Dispatcher Stratus Settings and select the “Allow users to use PIN login” option in the MFP Authentication area (make sure MFP Authentication is enabled). Then, there are several ways users can generate their PINs:

  1. From the Profile page, each user can select the “Generate PIN” link to randomly generate a PIN. Once generated, a PIN can be regenerated as needed to maintain operational security. Users can also view their own PIN here.
  2. From the Users page, each user can select the “Manage User PIN” icon to generate, regenerate, or delete their own PIN.
  3. From the Users page, tenant admins can select the “Manage User PIN” icon to generate, regenerate, or delete the PIN for any user.

Note: Tenant admins do not have access to users' PINs (other than their own).

At the MFP, users are presented with the login options selected by the tenant administrators: PIN, Card and/or Username/Password. If a user wants to login with their PIN, all they have to do is enter the six digits using the provided on-screen number pad or the optional physical number pad attached to the MFP. It's that simple! This authentication is built into the Dispatcher Stratus MFP app – no additional downloads required. Allow easy access to your fleet of MFPs without compromising on device security.
